An Evening Meal at Empire Restaurant Mysore

Few days after having a memorable dinner at Empire Restaurant on Bangalore-Mysore highway, I decided to head to Empire Restaurant in Mysore to experience the “taste of Bangalore” one more time. When I reached there, it was about 4 pm and their lunch time was over. Since I was very hungry I didn’t get enough time to go through their detailed menu book but I asked for few Kerala seafood items but they didn’t have it. It made me bit sad but I decided to go ahead with their available items.

They offered me a variety of juices made from fresh fruits like grapes, watermelon, and lime but grape juice was excellent

They have served me very tasty Mutton Biriyani and fresh mutton was used for its preparation

Seer fish fry and prawns fry. Fresh fish and prawns are used for the fry but the masala used for its coating was horrible. I couldn’t manage to click a picture of the prawns fry since it was served very last and I was busy finishing my ordered items.

They served me two vegetarian gravy, dhal and brinjal-tomato mixed curry, as the side dish for the plain rice. In total food was good and it wasn’t too expensive. In addition to this, daily buffet is also there at Empire.

The Empire Restaurant in Mysore is recently opened (on 2/11/2011) and they could attract a good crowd especially for the late night meals. The restaurant is located on the 8th Cross, Off Kalidasa road (Adipamapa Road), V.V. Mohalla, Mysore. The Empire Restaurant is housed in a 4-storey building with a customer dining capacity of about 300.  They have a party hall on the 2nd floor. They have a very good parking facility outside the restaurant as well as in the basement.

The restaurant is providing a good ambience but somehow I felt odd about its location. The fully-closed restaurant is just beside a main road and its see-through glass paneling is looting our eating privacy. The dining area is too congested with so many tables. The toilets are maintained very poorly with non-working flush. The wash area is also not so clean and it makes you feel bit yucky.
