Android is an open source operating system for mobile phones. The first phone is already out in New York and we will be very soon seeing more companies using this operating system. The biggest advantage of Android is that its open source and any body can modify the software without needing to take any permission from Google. The OS is still in the stage of inception, but has addressed most of the expected features.
