Bandos Island Resort

Bandos Reception Area Last week I had a chance to go to Bandos Island Resort, which is the oldest resort in the Maldives. Its just 20 mins travel from the Capital City, Male’. My company had some Guest Doctors from India, so we just took them there for a half day trip.

We enjoyed the beach and bar.. We left from Male’ at 8.00 am from the Jetty No 1. It was a very short trip, but our guests enjoyed it. We returned at 1pm as they had to check-in at 13.00hrs at the Male’ International Airport. I dropped them at the Airport and came back to Male’.

Even though, Bandos is the Oldest Resort in Maldives, Its a very preffered destination for tourists in Maldives. The resort was totally renovated one year back, so it does not look as a old resort. They are specialized for diving, and they have this Oxygen Chambers. In fact the Oxygen Chamber was operated by Our clinic, AMDC, few year back.
Bandos also has a picnic island nearby, which is called Kuda Bandos, Kuda, means small in Dhivehi. Its open to the public on Public Holidays and I have gone there many times now. We can go there for a day picnic. It has good beaches and we can really enjoy that island.
