Becoming a full time blogger

I have been reading about full time bloggers and just thought of myself taking up as a full time blogger. Before I or anybody take a decision of becoming a full time blogger, we need to look into many factors. None of the full time bloggers just quit their regular job and become a full time blogger. Almost everybody started their blog for fun and interest and when they found the blog income was sufficient or more than what they earned from their regular job, they took blogging as their profession

Amit Agrawal

Yesterday I read the about page of Amit Agrawal who is a full time blogger since 2004. He is known to be first professional Indian Blogger. He is a known technology columnist for many national newspapers. His blog has a page view more than 2 millions a month and he earns more than US$ 20,000 every month. Earning such a huge amount from a blog is not a simple task. To reach such a huge figure from the advertisements and paid services cannot be archived in a day or month, but may be years. His main source of income is Google adsense and I saw a image on a days income from Google Adsense as US$999.99 which is something which a blogger like me cannot dream about near future.

Darren Rowse

Darren is from Australia and is the man behind Problogger. He has been blogging since 2002 and is one of the high earners in the professional blogging industry. His main source of income is from private sales of Ads now and I don’t see an Google Adsense on his blog now. He used Google Adsense earlier but he says that earning from private sales of Ads is much more than Google Adsense. You get private ads only if you have good pageview and high number of subscribers to your blog. His blog has a pagerank of 6 and high ranking almost in every search engines

John Chow

John Chow is another blogger who earns more than US$30,000 per month and he is from Canada. I regularly read his blog. He says that he earn money by telling how much he earn. He has good earnings from Paid reviews and private sales of Ads. He also has a advertising company called Techmedia. John chows recent major set back was that his blog was penalized by Google for paid links. He lost his PR 6 and now its PR 3. He does not get into Google Results for his name John Chow

Shoemoney

Jremy Schoemaker is the man behind Shoemoney and he is again one of the top earning bloggers on the world wide web. He has been blogging for the some time now. I saw an image on his blog which shows an adsense cheque of US$ 132, 994.97 which is amazing.

To conclude, I would say to become a professional blogger like people I mentioned above is not a simple task and not everybody can become. If you would like to take blogging as your full time profession, you need to work on your blog along with your regular full time job and build it to a stage when you feel that you are earning much more from your blog than your regular job. Make sure that your earnings are growing every month and the growth is consistant. Again if you feel that you can earn much more if you spend more time for your then you should consider to become a full time blogger.

    Hi Asokans,

I came to know about Amit only a week ago when his portal selected my blog as one of the best blogs of India under the category “Writers, Authors, Critics, Poets, Literature”. I’m impressed by his achievements. One should know the titbits, the tricks of the trade. Amateur blogging can be just the beginning.

And finally, one needs to love the work.

    Thanks.
