Bollywood Actor Shammi Kapoor passed away

Shammi Kapoor breathed his last at 5.30 am today morning  in his residence at Mumbai. He was suffering from chronic renal failure for quiet sometime. He was 79 years old. He was a known actor and director.

Shammi Kapoor was born to Prithviraj Kapoor on 21 October 1931 in a Punjabi Khatri family in Mumbai. He has two brothers Raj Kapoor and Sashi Kapoor. He was a leading star in 1950s and 1960s. He made his bollywood debut with the film Jeevan Jyoti in 1953. He had so many hit movies in his credit like Teesri Manzil, Bramhachari, Junglee, etc. He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968 for his performance in Brahmachari and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982.

Shammi Kapoor is the founder and chairman of Internet Users Community of India (IUCI). He has also played a major role in setting up internet organizations like the Ethical Hackers Association. Kapoor also maintains a website dedicated to the ‘Kapoor family’.

His body is expected to be cremated at 11 am  tomorrow at Ban Ganga crematorium.
