Creating your blog or a website
There are two options to start off
- Free Websites / Blogs
- Registered Domain and paid hosting
If you want to start off without any investment, then you can go for free blog service providers like blogspot, wordpress, freeweb etc. Just try googling for free blogs, you should get lots of service providers. I will not recommend this if your are planning for a long term blogging and want to work your own way as there are some restrictions with these free service providers
Registering your domain name
You can register for a domain name and subscribe for a basic hosting plan from a reliable hosting company like siteground where I do host all my websites. They have excellent support system and are very reliable. I have been using their services for the past 3 years and I am very happy with them.
Content Management System
You do not need to create all your webpages manually, you can can use any CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal for managing your site. I recommend wordpress, which is very easy to manage and has lots of plugins, templates available for free. Most of the web hosting services has fantastico which helps you in installing these CMS without any pain.
Once you have your website ready, start building pages which are unique and never copy contents from others websites and post it on your website. Keep your blog updated with fresh pages.

Hi, I have a hosting account, they provide me PHP and Mysql 5. but wordpress say they need PHP and MySql 4. what to do now?
@nanduslm – You have a higher version, that should not be a problem. WordPress needs Mysql 4 or above and yours is Mysql 5, then it will work, just go ahead and set up your blog. If you need any other assistance, feel free to contact me
