DAM999 movie makes the headlines before its release

DAM999 is an upcoming English movie directed by Sohan Roy. The story is written by the director himself, which revolves around a 100-year-old dam built by the British during their colonial days in India. The movie is based on the award winning short documentary DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs and the Banqiao dam disaster of 1975 that claimed the lives of 250,000 people in China.

The movie will be releasing on 25 November in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.The  Pro-Tamil political parties are demanding that the film be banned in Tamilnadu as it is said to refer to the Mullaperiyar dam.

Movie DAM999 is produced by BizTV network and distributed by Warner Brothers. It will be released in 2D and 3D. Music is scored by Ouseppachan and cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajit Kapur, Vimala Raman, etc.

It is the first directorial venture of Sohan Roy.
