Eid Al-Fitr is one of the religious ceremonies of Muslims. It is commonly known as Eid and it marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan and the beginning of Shawwal. There is no fixed date for Eid since this day is marked depending on the visibility of the new moon.

In Maldives, Eid is celebrated on 30 August, 2011 after completing 29 days of fasting. Eid celebrations start with Eid prayers in the morning after which people exchange greetings with each other, breakfast and lunch is usually done with family members. They wear new clothes, cook delicious food, etc.. Yesterday evening, roads were so much crowded and most of the shops were crowded with the Eid shoppers. All were in a celebration mood. 

Eid brings a holiday mood to the people because there are so many holidays coming along with Eid day.

In Kerala, Eid will be celebrated on 31 August after completing 30 days long fasting.

Greater Eid is celebrated today, 7 November, 2011 in India. In India, this festival is popularly known as Bakrid or Eid ul-Adha. It is also known as Festival of Sacrifice. It is observed by the muslims to commemorate the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God. Eid Murabarak to all.
