Errors Upgrading to iOS 5

Apple has released the final version of iOS 5 to the public, but we see lots of users getting errors. Some are due to the server load. First thing you need to do is update your iTunes to 10.5. You then need to connect your iOS device to your MAC / PC and check for updates. But I was getting this error as show below for both my iPhone 4 and iPad

Solution

You can download the updates from Apple server directly and restore it on your iOS device.

iOS 5 Download Link

Select the right device and download it to your MAC / PC.

Connect your iOS device and click the restore button holding the option / alt key and browse to the location of the downloaded restore file. Please make sure that you back up before you start the restore process.
