“There is a woman behind the success or the failure of a man”. How many of you are willing to accept that woman is the key or the deciding factor leading men and they deserve more respect than anyone else.

We are in a world of hero-worshippers and the society is ruled by muscle power. A woman of substance or the head with a brain is becoming a big problem to the male dominated society. Earlier men were the bread winners and it was his sole responsibility to look after his wife and kids and of course men were considered as the head of the family. The role of women were to look after the home. The current scenario is different since women give more preference to career to home.

Women are not treated equally either at workplace or at home. We are celebrating 26th August as the Women’s Equality day.

How equally have you been treated by your man?

Most of the men are thinking that women are just sex objects. Even men and women match professional skills and work shoulder to shoulder, still there exists a glass ceiling which discriminates the women even though many claims that men and women are equal.

When a man is decisive, he is dynamic but when a woman is decisive, she is very difficult and stubborn in the eyes of men. Very few men are willing to treat a woman as an equal. They are too insecure and prefer to treat her as a child or a half brain. Most of the men are male chauvinists and mostly make comments like: You just look at this once and I will finalize it. or why bother yourself? This can be most irritating to an intelligent, thinking woman who is definitely better or equal in intelligence to him.

Women are considered ‘high risk’ in the business or the corporate world since a career woman is also someone’s wife, mother and daughter-in-law and thus has to deal with responsibilities. This gives rise to certain periods in life where she is forced to make a choice between her career and home. But do we sacrifice our morale or our dignity in doing so?

If you want to get recognized or succeed in life, it is high time to break that stereotyped role in your life. It’s safe to say that there is really no job a man can hold that a woman cannot, anymore. To men, we are your better halves and not anything less than that.

We know that there are many local real estate agents in India and these days most of the property transactions happens through these real estate agents. The advantages of going to an agent is that you can get access to a good number of customers if you are planning to sell your property and you can get access to a good number of properties if you want to buy one. The disadvantage is the price and the commission that you have to pay to these agents. The agents may come up with a higher price to get more commission than what the owner is demanding.

Buying and selling properties online

Now there are some really good portals which can help you in selling your property or if you are looking for one, you can search for the right one depending on the location and your budget. You can contact the owner directly and finalize the deal without paying any commission.

MagicBricks

MagicBricks is one of the top real estate site listing properties in India. You can find properties for sale in almost every part of India. I really liked the interface and search option on this site. You can also find house for rent, list your property / house for rent / sale, you can search for properties if you are looking to buy one, etc. You can get information like the property owner contact details, phone number, exact location of the property, price, etc for every property listed.

India Property

India Property is another good portal to spend time on to find a good property to buy or list your property for sale. As per the claim from the service provider, India Property is the top Indian site for your real estate needs. Here you can buy / sell / rent / lease property from any location in India.

99Acres

99acres is another popular real estate site in India. Here you can search for properties for buying, renting, leasing, agents, etc. You can also find information on loans for buying properties. Another interesting service is answering to your queries related to real estate.

Makaan

Makaan.com is a real estate site, where you can search for properties for rent, buying, leasing, etc. Most of the these portals work on the same concept. As a seller you can list your property and as a buyer, you can search for properties by inputing your needs.

India Properties

India Properties is again one of the top real estate portal in India. India Properties has something different which I could not notice on other property sites which is Auctions.

Real Estate India

Real Estate India is another portal for your real estate needs in India. I was doing some search for apartments on this site and could find more listings than other portals.

The challenges that we face on a daily basis are manifold and these take a toll on our health. The challenge is to progress always, but are we actually progressing? With the increase in the number of people undergoing stress-related disorders such as depression, anxiety, headaches, migraines and blood pressure, are we really moving ahead when it comes to living a healthy life? Probably not.

Though mental and physical health is on our priority list, yoga and healthy eating are becoming a way of life and spiritualism, a religion. Still we find it difficult to cope? The definition of stress states that when the demands are higher than one’s resources and ability to cope a person may experience stress. And what we do all the time is constantly push ourselves, sometimes not realising how much we can deal with.

Stress is domain that knows no boundaries. Both men as well as women experience stress, and not just that, they also experience similar type of stress. Women have become more career-oriented and the men attempt to strike a balance between family and work. The social aspect has changed in the last few decades, and stereo-type roles assigned to men and women have also changed.

The one’s who are married find it difficult to cope with nuclear as well as joint families. The single long for companionship, while live-ins and convenient relationships are sometimes easy solutions. Infidelity and low frustration tolerance makes divorce an easy way out.

Besides the stress in personal life it has accelerated on the professional front too. Competition is increasing, and so is insecurity and the need to reach a higher social status and better life style. One wants to provide the best to one’s children and save for the future too.

Stress is not just a phenomenon for men and women or the grown-ups, even children experience stress. They are stressed about studies, peer pressure, parental pressure and various other things. The adolescents feel the need to make quick money and have an enjoyable life, but often wonder how to do it.

So, how much can one deal with. Is there any one without stress? Luckily, some stress is good for health for it makes us work hard and do better for ourselves.

But, the other end of excessive stress leads to mental and physical disorders. Stress may never leave us, but we need to get away from it time and again. So how does one distress? One way of doing it is compartmentalizing personal and professional life. Spending some time just for one’s own self. Resolving internal and external conflicts can also be helpful. Deal with stress in a positive way.

Talk to someone, go for walks, and seek help as and when required. Avoid negative-coping mechanism such as drinking, smoking, drugs and other addictions which are only a temporary solution to the bigger problem. These mechanisms only increase stress.

Sometimes people avoid being stressed which leads to pent-up feelings. People are often unable to understand that dealing with the problem helps in moving ahead. Although we know it may be difficult to cope, and the pressures may increase, starting the day on a good note with a smile can bring a change within and around us. Make your expectations and ambitions a positive booster rather than a negative downer, and your stress levels are bound to go down.

My stress buster:- Two hours of health management each morning by way of yoga, exercises & work outs in the gym also help. Read a lot about good things.

We see new smartphones being announced almost everyday these days. Today we saw a new Nokia Lumia phone (Nokia Lumia 925) announced. We will see another phone from the Nokia Lumia series (Nokia Lumia 928) coming very soon. It’s good for users to have choice of phones when they decide to change their phone, but there are people who would want to have the latest and the best phone with them. If you are of that kind then you would now have to change your phone every 3 months.

iPhone comes up with a new device atleast once or twice a year, but these Windows Mobile and Android devices are seen popping up every now and then. You get really confused when you have to buy a latest device. I use a Galaxy Note 2 which I purchased when it was released, we now hear about the next version, that is the Galaxy Note 3. I was a Galaxy Note 1 user too, which I hardly used for 8 months. You should be sure to buy a device as soon as it is in the market or you may see that the next version is going to come to the market very soon.

You see big improvements in the hardware, new technologies coming up, new versions of Mobile Operating Systems being released, new applications in the market. I am not complaining about the industry growing very fast, but talking about the life of a device which we can use without getting a feel that we are using an outdated device. The operating systems are upgraded with new features and the hardware have to upgraded. You need more memory, space, etc when you want to upgrade to the latest operating system. Some apps stop working when you decide not to upgrade your operating system and you are forced to change your smartphone.

Looking deeply into the current trends and growth in the smartphone industry, we should tell ourselves that we need to change our smartphone atleast once a year if we want to make use of the latest developments, features, etc. Recently I was thinking of buying a Microsoft Surface Pro, but I hear rumors that there would a new tablet coming soon by Microsoft called the Microsoft Surface Plus and even new version of Windows 8 will also be coming out very soon. If you are planning to buy a iPhone 5, hold on, a new iPhone with new OS, iOS 7 will be soon in the market.

What is Page Speed ?

Page Speed is an open-source project started at Google to help developers optimize their web pages by applying web performance best practices.

Page Speed Service fetches content from your servers, rewrites by applying web performance best practices and serves it to end users via Google’s servers across the globe.

Every web user want the web page to be loaded as soon as they hit the enter key on the address bar or click on a link. There are many reasons why your web page may take more time to load. Google as search engine also penalizes websites which are bulky and take time to load. You can check your web pages using page speed and optimize it for better user experience. If you are using firebug, there is an option to use page speed with that. Check out your Page speed score.

The post Second World War period witnessed an era of awakening and rise of political and nationalist aspirations of subjugated people over the world. The centuries old phenomenon of colonialism started crumbling. Many new independent states came into existence in Asia and Africa after having thrown off the yoke of foreign domination. It was also a time when the cold war between the Soviet and the US blocs was getting intensified. The super powers tried to win over these newly independent countries to their respective blocs. But some of them abhorred the idea of submission to any of the super powers. They wanted to pursue an independent foreign policy of their own rather than falling in line with any power bloc. It was this strategy of not joining either of the two power blocs and following an independent foreign policy that came to be known as Non-alignment.

Meaning

Non-alignment does not mean “isolation” or “neutrality”. It is an independent movement stressing that nations should follow their own policies without Joining any of the power blocs and falling under their influence. A non-aligned nation judges each issue on its merits. In other words, non-alignment upholds the rights of all states to freedom and choice of action in the international field. One of the fundamental aspects of non-alignment is its antipathy to military alliances and opposition to any form of imperialism.

Background of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM )

The newly independent countries mostly In Asia and Africa had almost identical problems of economy, government, development, etc. and therefore they had many views in common on world affairs. These African and Asian countries thus sought to tackle their problems at a conference held at Bandung in Indonesia in 1955. Thirty Asian and African nations attended it. India, China and Indonesia played a leading role at this conference. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then prime minister of India, the then Chinese Prime Minister Chou-En-Lat and the then President Sukarno of Indonesia expressed complete identity of views. The impact of this conference was felt in the U.N. also. This was also the beginning of the Non-Aligned Movement. These Afro-Asian countries declared themselves neutralists. The epithet “non-aligned” was adopted at a subsequent conference held at Belgrade in 1961.

The Bandung Conference

Most of the Afro-Asian countries which participated in the Bandung Conference of 1955 had been victims of colonial exploitation in one form or another. However, in respect of political ideologies, forms of government and economic systems, these countries differed widely from each other. For example, India had parliamentary democracy; China was a communist state while President Sukarno of Indonesia was virtually a dictator. Some of them, like China, were also aligned with one or the other of the two power blocs. The leaders of the participating countries, therefore, avoided going into the embarrassing questions of democracy, human rights etc. in each other’s territories. Instead, they asserted their collective identity by adopting a programme which emphasized peace and mutual co-operation. With these aims they passed a resolution adopting five principles of peaceful co-existence as the guidelines for their mutual relations. These came to be known as Panch Sheel or the five rules of conduct. These were:

(a) Mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity;

(b) Non-aggression;

(c) Non-interference in each other’s affairs;

(d) Equality and mutual benefit; and

(e) Peaceful co-existence.

These five principles known as Panch Sheel were enumerated for the first time in 1954 by India and China in their agreement in respect to Tibet. These ideals became an agenda for informal discussion between Nehru, Tito of Yugoslavia and Nasser of Egypt at a meeting in Yugoslavia in 1956. These leaders decided to hold a meeting of the representatives of all countries which were willing to subscribe to these principles. The first summit of such countries was held at Belgrade in September 1961. It was attended by the executive heads of 25 countries. It was at this conference that, these countries first described themselves as ‘non-aligned’ instead of ‘neutral’. (Since then, its membership has increased to 113.) While explaining the basic principles of non-alignment, Nehru said, “We propose as far as possible to keep away from power blocs or groups aligned against each other… We propose to keep on the closest terms of friendship with all countries. We shall be friends of America and intend co-operating with them. We intend also to cooperate fully with Soviet Union”.

Major Objectives of the Non-Aligned Movement

The Non-Aligned Movement has become the biggest peace movement in the world. It has come a long way since Belgrade Summit in 1961. Almost all the developing countries of the world are members of this movement. The Non-Aligned Movement, in the course of its eventful journey, held its Summits at Belgrade (1961- 25 members), Cairo (1964- 47 members); Lusaka (1970- 53 members), Algiers (1973- 75 members), Colombo (1976- 85 members), Havana (1979- 94 members), New Delhi (1983- 100 members), Harare (1986- 100 members), Belgrade (1989- 103 members), Jakarta (1992- 108 members), Cartagena (1995- 113 members) and Durban (1998- 113 members). The membership of the NAM has been steadily increasing and therefore its voice has also been gaining force steadily in world affairs. As stressed by the then President Tito of Yugoslavia in the first summit at Belgrade, “this group of non-aligned countries is not a bloc, but a group of like-minded nations. Though sometimes it is referred to as Third bloc’, the Non-Aligned Movement is exactly what its name implies, a “movement rather than an organisation. Some of the major objectives for which Non-Aligned Movement stands are:

Giving freedom to people under colonial and alien domination.

Establishment of a just international economic order.

Elimination of the causes and horrors of war and, in particular, elimination of nuclear weapons.

Promotion of human rights.

Condemnation of all forms of racial discrimination.

Protection of environment.

Abolition of imperialism, colonialism and neo-colonialism.

Peaceful co-existence and amicable settlement of international disputes.

Strengthening the role and effectiveness of the United Nations.

Nehru’s Role

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, was the first and the greatest apostle of the Non-Aligned Movement; In March 1947 Nehru said “for too long, we of Asia have been petitioners in western courts and chancellories. That story must now belong to the past. We propose to stand on our own feet… We do not intend to be a plaything of others. “Maintenance of territorial integrity, maintenance of freedom, promotion of international peace, the emancipation of the colonial people and the promotion of racial equality were the guiding principles of India’s foreign policy under Nehru. These very objectives were the foundation of Panch-Sheel and later gained a concrete shape as objectives of the Non-Aligned Movement. Nehru made a conspicuous contribution to the evolution and growth of the Non-Aligned Movement. In the context of India, Nehru explained the meaning of ‘Non-Alignment’ thus, “By aligning ourselves with any one Power, you surrender your opinion; give up the policy you would normally pursue because somebody else wants you to pursue another policy. I do not think it would be a right policy for us to adopt”. Not only did Nehru declare India to be non-aligned, but he also advised all the Afro-Asian nations, which had recently attained independence, to keep themselves away from the two warring camps. Nehru ridiculed the suggestion that non-alignment was a sign of weakness. He was of the firm conviction that the non-aligned countries could play a positive role as mediators and keep the two power blocs away from a clash.

Role of NAM

The 1950′s were a period of tension because of many problems such as the Berlin Blockade, the Indo-China (Vietnam) War, the Congo Civil War and the build up of nuclear arms stock-piles in many regions. The next decade saw the possibility of a real nuclear war, as cold war intensified. Besides, many countries still remained under European subjugation. It was against this background that the Belgrade Summit (1961) and the Cairo Summit (1964) were held to discuss world affairs and bring moral pressure upon the concerned nations to see light. The non-aligned nations appealed to all powers, big and small, to give up the policy of confrontation. Since then the voice of the non-aligned nations has been heard with due respect by countries of the world. At the Algiers Summit in 1973 greater concern was expressed about economic problems than other problems. The next two Summits at Colombo (1976) and Havana (1979) witnessed the same concern about the widening gulf between the rich and the poor nations. The nuclear powers in the meanwhile had built up formidable nuclear weaponry, besides chemical weapons. The presence of Western and American force in West Germany and those of the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe was causing concern everywhere. At the Delhi Summit (1983) therefore, the focus of discussion was ‘Disarmament’. Other topics which figured in the discussions included apartheid in South Africa, the Iran-Iraq conflict and the Palestinian problem. Apartheid and racial discrimination were condemned in unequivocal terms at the eighth summit held at Harare in 1986. The anti-apartheid views of the members were not without effect. Mr. Nelson Mandela, imprisoned for over 25 years, was freed in October 1989. He has been actively working against apartheid in South Africa and has had the full support of NAM nations. The increasing pressure put by the non-aligned nations in the United Nations bodies and on the world community in general, ultimately bore fruit. Apartheid was completely abolished in South Africa with the election of Nelson Mandela as the President on 10th May, 1594. Important decisions were taken at the ninth summit held at Belgrade in Sept. 1989. Over one hundred nations pledged once again to co-operate whole-heartedly with one another in order to find a just solution to world problems and to build up a just economic order. This is to be done through dialogues and discussions on the key economic issues so as to ensure mutual co-operation among the NAM nations on the one side and among these nations and the developed countries on the other. The summit also pledged to continue its fight against apartheid and colonialism still persisting in many countries as well as to work for upholding human rights everywhere. Faith was expressed in the U.N. and full support was promised to it in its endeavor to prevent and eliminate war and bring about economic progress. NAM has been playing an important role in diffusing crises around the world. NAM made all possible efforts in making the US and Iraq understand the futility of the Gulf war-I that began in January, 1991. A 22 page Accra declaration issued after the 103 NAM Foreign Ministers session in September, 1991. The next summit, held at Jakarta in September 1992 was attended by 95 out of 108 members. The 1995 summit; held at Cartagena, in Columbia more or less, endorsed the Jakarta resolutions. The twelfth summit of NAM, held at Durban, South Africa in 1998, mostly endorsed the resolutions of the Jakarta Declaration, but with greater emphasis on the demand for a proper place for the developing countries in the world politics and economy. It expressed its deep concern over nuclear proliferation, especially in view of the nuclear tests carried out by India and Pakistan, and called for an International conference on disarmament in 1999 with the aim of complete elimination of nuclear weapons.

In this post, I will be discussing on a very important topic which you should consider before you start a blog. There are different kinds of blogs that you can have. You should decide on the kind of blog that you want to start before you write your first post. You should decide the categories and should have sufficient knowledge about the topic that you are deciding to write on.

Blog on a particular topic exclusively – You just write on a single topic, like iPhones, Android Devices, WordPress, etc

Blog on multiple topics, could be very much un-related – You write on cars, phones, medical tips, etc

Blog on a broad topic – Like Technology which can cover a big range of articles

Blog on Trending topics – You write on hot topics, like if iPhone is going to release a new phone, you write about that, if there are elections in US going on, you write about that, etc

Writing on trending topics can give you big traffic, if you are able to post articles like breaking news. If you are able to post news which no body has posted you may have the chance of getting spike of traffic. Your blog posts may start appearing on sites like Google News, which is a big source of traffic.

The problem with maintaining a blog with trending topics is that you have to be among the first to publish your posts, your posts may have traffic as long as the topic is trending. Most of the posts may become dead after sometime, but when you write stuffs like tutorials, references, tips and tricks, How To articles, etc, you may not get spiking traffic but, the articles will get traffic as long as there are people searching on that topic. There are advantages as well as disadvantages on blogging on trending topic, again it depends on you to decide the kind of blog that you want to maintain.

Check out Google Trends to find about more information on finding trending topics. There are many tools available to keep a check on trending topics and decide on your post. Even if there are millions of articles on the topic that you want to write, you should go on and write giving your best after doing sufficient research on the topic that you are writing.

Homepage of your blog is the page displayed when somebody types your domain name. Homepage of a blog is considered as the most important page of that blog. You need to make your blog homepage with some difference as I feel being the most important page needs to have some difference. To make your blog homepage attractive your need to get the right theme. You can find different themes these days which has news style home page and its different from other regular blog pages.

Usually the blog concept is to show the latest 10 posts on the homepage of the blog. You have the option to show the full post, or breakdown the post with few introductory lines depending on how you want your blog to look. I have used simple blog style for this blog by showing the latest 10 blog posts on the homepage of this blog, but I have a magazine style WordPress theme used on my personal blog where I have three columns, the first row showing different category which is related to technology and the second row other categories. I have a block for showing the latest video post and on top I have block for featured post. These kind of themes could give a better look to your blog like a news blog or a magazine styled blog.

All these style depends on your blog template or the blog theme. There are great blog themes available which can really change the look and feel of your blog and give a professional look. Woothemes, Revolution Themes has excellent themes which can improve your blog design, but you need to pay some price for these professional themes which is worth if you want to create a good looking blog.

A blog with a great content, frequent update and a well designed Home Page will really rock. Qualities of good theme according to my view are

Well planned home page

Easy Navigation

Search Engine Optimized

Do you agree with me that a well designed home page is very important for a great blog?

Methi or Uluva cheera or Vendaya keerai refers to the fresh green leaves of the fenugreek. Many don’t like to eat this because of its bitter taste even though it is enriched with Iron and Vitamin K. Traditionally methi or fenugreek is supposed to be very beneficial to people who are suffering from the problem of constipation and it makes the bowel movement smooth.

Methi leaves stir fry is one of the regularly prepared dishes at home but I never bothered to take the pictures or post it due to no reasons. It is really an easy to prepare side dish with minimum ingredients and less cooking time.

Here goes the recipe:

Ingredients:

Methi – a bunch (weighs about 300 gms including its stem, roots and leaves)

Garlic flakes – 10, crushed

Onion – 1 medium (or 4-5 shallots), finely chopped

Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp

Kashmiri Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp

Cooking oil – 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Method of Preparation:

Pluck Methi leaves and wash it thoroughly in enough water for 2-3 times, drain and keep aside

Heat oil in a Kadai and fry garlic and onion with a pinch of salt and turmeric until it is fragrant and add chilly powder and saute’ over medium heat until the oil start separating

Now raise the temperature to high and add Methi leaves and stir well until all the ingredients are mixed well and dry (never try to cover the kadai while cooking Methi leaves because it will be very bitter)

Methi leaves stir fry is ready and it is an ideal side dish for rice and roti. It tastes the best when it is served along with moru curry for rice.

The very famous Methi leaves recipes include Dhal Methi, Aloo Methi, Methi ka Paratha, etc.. Methi is consumed fresh, cooked or dried (kasuri methi).
