Getting Ideas for new posts for your blog

This post is for bloggers who feel it tough to keep their blog updated with posts. Its very important that you do consistent postings on your blog to keep it fresh and lively. If you have regular readers and feed subscribers, they would expect something from your periodically. Its very important that you update your blog consistently with topics interesting to your readers. I will talk about consistency in depth in a separate post as its a topic to be covered in depth. Coming to the topic of this post, how do you write posts or how do you decide a topic for the day. I often used to get frustrated deciding what to write during my inspectional stage of blogging. I share my way of write posts here which should be helpful to you.

Draft your thoughts on the move

I use my iPhone to do this now. I have software named Blogpress which is available in Apple App Store which is not a free application, but an excellent one. While I am travelling or not in front of my laptop and I get an idea of a post topic, I open my iPhone and start writing it, may a line or two with the heading and I post is as a draft on my blog. I complete it when I am back or when ever I get time. I go through the draft posts when I am not having any topic to write.

Subscribe to Interesting Blogs of your taste

I have subscribed to more than 100 blogs and websites which I read everyday. I spend at least 2 hours a day reading what the world is telling. Advantage of reading blogs and other news website is that you do not need to browse all those websites, you open the Feed reader and start reading what is new and this could help you in writing a post for your blog. You can chose some interesting topic and write about it. You should not feel shy to re-write a topic someone has already covered. There may be many visitors who could find your post something very new and appreciate your work.

Television Channels, News papers, Magazine

If you have reading habit then it should not be a big deal to write. When you read something interesting, you can get ideas for your next post. Television news channels are the best source of idea for your next post.

Your daily life and experience

I write most of my post from my daily experience and things that go around me. I write about the things I see around me, the things I learn from my work. I do travel a lot which helps me in writing about the places I travel. I always make it a point that I carry my camera and the charger when ever I travel. I have my phone with a good camera to take the pictures while I am on the move.

Once you have your blog setup and experience writing your post, you should not have the problem to keep your blog updated with new posts. You blog post does not need to be of 1000’s of words, just write up your thoughts and information that you have or what you have collected by your research.

Google News is a good source of information. I regularly visit the Google news page and this often gives me some idea to write a post.
