Today’s, 24th July, Google Doodle shows the picture of Amelia Earhart on top of a stationary plane. Google chose to display this doodle to celebrate the 115th birthday of Amelia Earhart, the first woman aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Amelia Mary Earhart was born on 24 July, 1927 in Atchison, Kansas, USA and made her aviation history of solo flying across Atlantic Ocean on May 20, 1932. Amelia Earhart disappeared on July 2, 1937,over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island while attempting to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe.
