Green toilets developed by DRDO for Indian Railways
The toilets inside the trains in India are something which I have been thinking about for years. The waste materials from the toilets are just thrown into the tracks, so the tracks all over India are full of waste materials. For years we did not think about a better solution for this.
But things are going to change now.
Indian Railways would be introducing green trains with bio-toilets to provide better hygiene for passengers as part of its green initiatives, Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi said Wednesday.
Go Green solutions is going to be used for the trains in India.
What is Go Green Solution?
Go Green Solutions with support of technology developed and approved by DRDO – Ministry of Defence offers an innovative technology for disposal of human waste in eco friendly manner. These Bio toilets can function at any atmospheric temp between -55 to 60 degree C. The bacterial consortium degrades night soil at temp as low as -55 degree C and produces colourless, odourless and inflammable bio gas containing 50 – 70% methane. [more info]
