iPad HD – New Features of iPad
The much awaited new iPad is announced. This model is called iPad HD and not iPad 3. Everytime Apple comes up with a new version, we see that Apple products are getting better and better. I had started with iPad which was the initial model, then the iPad 2, which really had something more to give as user.
iPad HD has lot of stunning new features and there are real reasons for upgrade if you are really use your iPad. iPad HD pre-orders are open after the announcement and would be available in the US on the 16th of March. India has always been neglected, so we need to wait to find the availability of iPad HD in India.
Are there sufficient reasons for upgrading from iPad 2, we need to go through the new features and understand. iPad HD will be coming with iOS 5.1 which is released today for all the iOS devices which includes iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, etc.
What are the new features of iPad or What are the differences between iPad 2 and iPad HD?
Retina Display
iPad HD is all about display. You have Retina Display which means that you will have better images even after Zooming. iPad HD has 4 times more pixels compared to iPad 2. If you have a device which has such a strong display, you would really fall in love with it.
The Retina display on the new iPad features a 2048-by-1536 resolution, 44 percent greater color saturation, and an astounding 3.1 million pixels — in the same 9.7-inch space. That’s four times the number of pixels in iPad 2 and a million more than an HDTV.
Better / Faster Processor
iPad HD has a A5X chip with quad-core graphics drives four times the pixels of iPad 2. You will find iPad HD more fast, instant and responsive compared to iPad 2
Better Battery
Even though iPad HD has a faster processor and strong hardware, still you will find the batter back up better than iPad 2.
Dictation
Yes Siri is there in iPad HD, and the Dictation is one of the top features of iPad HD. You can now dictate and email and iPad HD would write it for you. I am not sure if this feature would be available for iPad 2 after the upgrade to iOS version 5.1
5 Mega Pixels iSight Camera
Much better camera, compared to the 2 megapixel camera of iPad 2. You can shoot stunning images and 1080p HD videos.
4G LTE – High Speed Internet
Yes in US you will have 4G ready and iPad 3 is capable of 4G LTE upto 72mbps. The big difference between iPad 2 and iPad HD is that iPad HD can be used as a personal hotspot. You can share the internet from the new iPad HD.
I am sure, as always, iPad 3 would be a big success and there are real reasons for it. We will see most of the iPad users going for an upgrade and some new iPad users joining the team.
