Making Money By Selling iOS Applications

Are a programmer ? I do not mean if you are a iOS developer, if you are, you should already have some iOS applications in the Apple Apps store selling and making good money out there. Two years back, I thought of developing application for iPhone and downloaded the SDK, when through some sample codes, but I was not really comfortable, or to be very frank, I just thought I cannot do it. I am a developer who has worked on languages like Java, VB, .NET, PHP, C (during my studies, did not do much after that) and I found it bit tough to understand what Objective C is.

Two months back, I just decided to learn Objective C and got some books when I went to India and joined some online classes. After spending about a 10 days with a strong dedication to learn iOS programming, I really got to understand the syntax and started doing some coding. I got myself registered as an iOS Apple developer and started spending about 2 hours a day on this and believe me, I am now ready with my first App to be uploaded to the App store. Earnings from iOS Applications

If you look into the potential of earning money by selling iOS application, trust me, its very high. It all depends on the idea and implimentation. There are millions of apps in the app store and you need to have an application which stands out and the users would love to use your app and rate it in a higher level. You should understand the market of the App store. Currently there are about 120 million iOS devices which includes iPhone, iPad and iPod of different models, so you have a lot of people who could use your product and the App store is the only source where you can sell iOS applications (I am not considering Jailbroken iOS devices).

Do you have to be a developer ?

Not really, if you are having a good idea, but you are not a developer, then you have the option to hire a iOS developer. I do agree that the cost of hiring a developer and implementing the idea would be expensive, but if you are ready to invest and confident about your idea, then you should take the risk.

You can make money with free apps as well. You can join the iAds program which is from Apple itself and display ads inside your application and get paid for it or go for a paid application and make money. Price your app intelligently - You will find most of the app in the app store about a Dollar and those sells well, but you can go upto US$ 5 which is not a big price as far as users are concerned.
