Mammootty is turning 60!

Malayalam movie superstar Mammootty is turning 60 on 7 September and it is time to wish him a happy birthday.

Mammootty who is popularly known as Mammookka born as Muhammadkutty Ismail Panaparambil to Ismail and Fathima on 7 September, 1951 in Chempu near Vaikom in the Kottayam district of the state of Kerala. He is a graduate in Law and practiced for two years before debuted into the movie industry. Mammootty won National award for the Best Actor for three times, State award for the Best Actor for seven times and film fare award for 11 times. He is honoured with Padma Shri in 1998 and he was first Malayalam actor to receive such prestigious honour. In addition to this, he was honoured with Doctor of Letters by the University of Kerala and University of Calicut in 2010.

Mammootty is debuted into the Malayalam movie industry in 1971 through Anubhavangal Paalichakal directed by K S Sethumadhavan. Since then he has acted in more than 360 movies and still continuing his acting career successfully. He is also the Chairman of Malayalam communications which runs Malayalam channels Kairali TV, WE TV, and People TV.

Mammootty is married to Sulfath and has two children.
