Minister for Food and Civil Supplies T. M. Jacob passed away

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies T. M. Jacob passed away at a private hospital, Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi, Kerala. Reports say that the minister died at 10.30 pm and due to Pulmonary Hypertension and heart failure. He has been hospitalised since 17 October and he was in the Cardiac intensive Care when he died. He was 61 years old.

T M Jacob was born on 16 September, 1950. He was representing Piravom constituency in the Ernakulam District in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1977 at the age of 27 and continued his political career for more than 4 decades.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said his death is a great loss to the State. A special meeting of the Cabinet will be held tonight in view of the demise of Mr. Jacob.

Funeral ceremonies will be held at Kakoor Attinkunnu St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, 1 November.
