India is a land of rich cultural heritage and the only thing that all the rulers had in common was that the buildings that they built made them immortal. Actually the rise and fall of these cultures were around their gods and many an ancient monument of india is a temple to the devotion to gods. Some examples are the Dwarikadhish temple at Dwarika devoted to lord Krishna which is said to be the reconstruction of the original temple which was more than a thousand years ago. The pillar of Ashoka with four lions with looking at four different sides was made even before christ.

Built by Shah Jahan as a symbol of love towards his wife Mumtaz Mahal, during the Mughal period, it stands as an eloquent work of architecture made up of marbles all throughout and worked upon bythe best workers of all time. Indeed Taj Mahal is a glorious monuments and a must see for people all over the world who do believe in the word “Love”.
Red fort, another work of splendid architecture and built in Delhi by Shah Jahan is an important Monument of India. Irregular octagon in shape with a 2.5 km wall surrounding it, and based on the bank of the river yamuna, the Red fort stands as an important structure for our nation. Popularly known as Lal Quila, it is this place where every year the National flag of our country is hoisted on every Republic and Independence Day celebration. The fort holds an important place in the heart of all countrymen and inspires a love for their motherland.

Moving towards the western coast of mother India, towards the financial city, Mumbai; it houses a very famous Historical Monument in India, named as the Gateway of India. Designed in 1911 by George Wikket during the British era in India, this Monument in India is witness to lakhs of tourist every year who do come for a glimpse of this monument with great archways and side halls which can at a time accommodate as many as 600 people inside it.
Jagannath temple is a very Ancient Monument of India. Located at Puri on the eastern coast of India, it enjoys immense spiritual importance and devotion amongst the people of India. At the Jagannath temple we worships enshrine of Lord Krishna which is made up of wood. The Jagannath temple is believed to be of 40000 sq. feet in areas and has as many as 120 shrines and temples.
Famously known as the Sun Temple, the Konark Temple is an important Historical Monument of India. The temple is a magnificent piece of architecture. Based in Orissa it was built in thirteenth century by King Narsimhadeva. The entire temple is shaped as a colossal chariot and God Surya is worshipped here.
Qutab Minar is also a place of immense significance as it is the largest tower made up of stone. Based in Delhi and built in 1310, this work of architecture of the Slave Dynasty is as high as 239 ft.
Charminar is a sure shot tourist spot for any tourist visiting the South Indian City, Hyderabad. A square shaped structure built in 1591 by Mohommed Quli Qutub Shah it is a famous monument of India with huge arches, roofs and minarets.
