My Blogging Tools

by Lechu on November 12, 2008

Its very important that if you are blogging full time or you are an active blogger, you should have sufficient tools to be productive. I have been blogging for some time now and I have my own way to get the best out of me.

This is my computer table at my home. I do not have a PC, but I have a 22 inch LCD Monitor, a wireless Microsoft keyboard, and a wireless mouse. I have a 4bps broadband connection with Wifi router.

I use my laptop always even if I am at office or travelling or at Home. Once I come home, I just plug my laptop to the monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse.

Like you see above, I have connected the monitor and the wireless gadgets. I used to sit on the bed and use my laptop at home, but that was bad for my back and neck, so I just decided not use my Laptop at home. If you spend more time in front of a computer, make sure that  you have a comfortable place to sit with your back and neck straight or you will end up in big trouble.

I enjoy posting, sometimes I watch TV and even I do live blogging watching an event. I had done a post when the swearing in ceremony of the President of Maldives was held two days back

My Laptop – I use a Dell XPS 1330 which has 4GB Ram , 250 GB hard disk, and Vista Home Premium. I use windows live writer to publish my posts on all my blogs. I use Picasa to download images from my Canon camera and to edit the images. I use the I Feel lucky feature of Picasa which really tunes up the image and then export the images to web optimized images.

Vidoespin is the software that I use to edit videos and usually I use blip.TV to upload my video. I get paid for the ad on my Video, not much, but something is better than nothing. I was using Revver earlier, but I like the quality of the blip TV videos.

Mobile Blogging is something which I do when I am travelling. I use my Pocket PC HTC TYTN II to post when I do not have access to my laptop. Maldives has a good coverage of Mobile Network with Edge Internet and very soon 3G is coming up.

If you are planning to spend more time for blogging, then you should use the best tools available to get the best out of yourself.
