There are some new resorts coming up in Maldives

Herathera Island Resort

You can watch this video on Herathera Resort which was taken before opening
There are about 90 resorts in Maldives and what I see is the whole year almost all the resorts are over booked. The Maldives government has given approval for 15 more new resorts which will be coming up in next 1-2 years.

Two new resorts, Herathera Island Resort and Shangrilla are two new resorts in Maldives. Herathera has already started operation and Shangrilla is expected to start its operation by May 2008. Both the resorts are one the biggest and high standard resorts in Maldives.

Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives

Shangri-La project has been delayed and postponed many times and probably it will do its grant opening in May 2008. This will be one of the best place to stay in Maldives. Shangri-La is situated in Addu Atoll which is on the other part of Maldives, about 90 minutes flight from Male’, the capital of Maldives

Its told that the tourist coming to resorts in Addu can enter through the Gan airport in Addu which is now an international airport. Accommodation facility includes beach villas, presidents beach villa, presidents water villa, twin beach villas, water pool villas and there are about 142 villas

I do not have any pictures at this movement, but I will be visiting the resort very soon and coming up with a post with more information about Shangri-La
