Pagerank Update is On – October 2007
Finally the much awaited and debated pagerank update is on. Many of the sites that I watch has lost 1-2 in PR. I checked for some searches, but could not note any change in SERPs, may be it may take some time.
Summary
- Sites with Paid links penalized
- Many sites pagerank has come down
- Web Directories are down including Yahoo Directory from 6 to 5
- Many bloggers who earn money by selling their space are seeing fall in their pagerank
- Google has made it very clear that they are against artificial links
The pagerank algorithm is totally depending on the backlinks and if these are created artificially and webmasters can control then there is no reason to depend on any pagerank system. To preserve the Standard of Pagerank, Google has taken a right step
Webmasters needs to follow the guidelines for Webmasters from Google and work accordingly because Google belongs to Google and they have every right to run the business as they want
