Pagespeed Service from Google – Apply now

Google is offering Page Speed service for webmasters. You need to fill up this form and wait for a response from Google. I am not sure, if this service is free. Dreamhost is already providing this service for free (I know about Dedicated Server, not sure about shared hosting).

What is Page Speed ?

Page Speed is an open-source project started at Google to help developers optimize their web pages by applying web performance best practices.

Page Speed Service fetches content from your servers, rewrites by applying web performance best practices and serves it to end users via Google’s servers across the globe.

Every web user want the web page to be loaded as soon as they hit the enter key on the address bar or click on a link. There are many reasons why your web page may take more time to load. Google as search engine also penalizes websites which are bulky and take time to load. You can check  your web pages using page speed and optimize it for better user experience. If you are using firebug, there is an option to use page speed with that. Check out your Page speed score.
