Spain Vs Italy – Who will be the EURO 2012 winner?

The Euro 2012 is coming to end on Sunday, 1 July 2012 with a final match between Italy and Spain. To reach the final Italy defeated Germany for 2-1 goals and Spain defeated Portugal for 4-2 in the shootouts. The final match will be held at the Olympic Stadium, Kiev. If they can defeat Spain, that will be their first European crown since 1968.

Italy got into the final match with the two magic goals of Mario Balotelli, 21 year old Manchester City Star. Balotelli’s first goal happened in the 20th minute and the second goal came at the 36th minute of the first half.

With the Italy’s victory, Italy maintain their impressive record of having never lost to Germany at a World Cup or European Championships on their eighth meeting at a major tournament and Germany are denied a 14th appearance in the final of a major tournament.

racism against balotelli

Balotelli has been a reported target of racist chants at Euro 2012. As part of the racist attack, one cartoon drawn by Marini was published in one of the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. The cartoon depicts Balotelli on top of Big Ben in a reference to King Kong on New York’s Empire State Building. Later on the newspaper apologized to its readers following complaints from the readers.

Lets wait and see whether Balotelli’s magic at Warsaw’s National Stadium will repeat at Kiev for Italians to lift their Euro 2012 trophy.
